On March 25-26, biddy wrestlers from across the state of Ohio competed at the OAC State Wrestling Tournament in Youngstown.

Evan Smigelski, a 4th grader at Park Elementary, wrestled his way to 6th place in a bracket of the best 32 wrestlers in the state. This is Evan’s second time on the podium at this tournament, where he was state runner-up in 2015. He is looking forward to returning to this tournament for a few more years, and hopes to be on the podium again.

Evan is the son of Jeremy and Kelli Smigelski of Swanton. He credits his successful year to Coach Whitey Taylor and the rest of the coaching staff.
