The Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire & Explosion Investigation Bureau is seeking information relating to two fires that were intentionally set to a home at 641 South Favony Avenue in Holland.
Both fires occurred around 10 p.m., the first on Sunday, April 2, and again on Wednesday, April 12. The Springfield Township Fire Department responded to both fires. The investigation is being conducted in conjunction with the fire department and the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators do not believe these fires are connected to another arson in Holland that occurred on March 3 on South Meilke Road.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fire.
“Arson is a serious crime that should not be taken lightly,” State Fire Marshal Larry L. Flowers said. “Information from the public is crucial to solving these kinds of cases, so we ask that anyone with any piece of information please come forward and help our investigators solve this case.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Fire & Explosion Investigation Bureau at (800) 589-2728 or the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office at (419) 213-4908.
